The Palmetto Dunes Resort is located mid island and is a gated community. Accommodations include a variety of rental homes ranging from 3 bedrooms to 8 bedrooms. In addition, the resort offers the most 1 -4 bedroom oceanfront villas on the island.  

Guests of the Palmetto Dunes Resort can enjoy miles of beautiful beaches, bike trails, tennis, and pickle ball. The more adventurous may opt to rent a kayak or canoe and explore the 11 mile lagoon system that winds its way throughout the resort. On your exploration, chances are you will encounter more than 40 species of birds, turtles, otters and an occasional alligator.

Golf enthusiasts can book a tee time at any of the 3 championship golf courses located within the Resort. Choose from Fazio, Robert Trent Jones or Arthur Hills, better yet; book a tee time at all three!

The Shelter Cove Marina is located directly across the street from Palmetto Dunes and is accessible by bike, car or the courtesy shuttle. The marina offers a variety of water sports, fishing or sightseeing cruises. Nightly entertainment can be enjoyed at the marina as well as both casual and fine dining. Guests can also enjoy the free fireworks display at the marina during the summer months.
