Shorewood 508

This rental had many issues. Kitchen faucet non functioning upon arrival. Clothes dryer non functioning on arrival. Can’t run coffeemaker and microwave at same time or circuit breaker blows and it’s hidden behind a large framed artwork. HVAC unit is starving for air so door to furnace is blocked open with a hanger. Black mold in both bathroom ceilings by vent. Both doors to patio don’t seal and rattle constantly. Visually appealing unit in poor maintenance. Had to have a new faucet installed, dryer repair man come maintenance man come twice, and a lot of this is still not fixed. Excellent 5th floor view. Nobody from seashore even talked to me about these issues and no credit was offered.

We feel it is important to provide additional context regarding the concerns raised in this review. The guest contacted us on a Sunday regarding several maintenance items; our Field Operations Manager responded immediately by visiting the property that same day to personally inspect the reported concerns and speak with the guest. We are closed on Sunday but immediately responded anyway.  The kitchen faucet was determined to need replacement, and because plumbers were unavailable on Sunday, a licensed plumber replaced it first thing Monday morning. We also dispatched our appliance company Monday morning to inspect the dryer. The technician cleaned the temperature sensors, verified proper operation, and we received no further reports from this guest that the dryer was not functioning. Our current guests have likewise reported no issues with the dryer. The electrical concern involving the microwave and coffee maker has since been resolved. The HVAC system was also inspected. While temperatures (especially on the 5th floor of an Ocean Front building) can be difficult to maintain during the hottest part of a South Carolina summer, the system was operating as designed. Any long-term improvements, such as adding additional return air, are owner decisions that can only be completed during the off-season. The staining around the bathroom vents is not black mold, but surface mildew caused by condensation when cool air meets hot air in our hot, humid coastal climate during the summer months. We offered to have this cleaned during the stay. The patio door issue mentioned in this review was never reported to our office, so we were not given the opportunity to inspect or address it. Finally, the statement that nobody from Seashore Vacations spoke with the guest is simply inaccurate. Shorewood 508 definitely has the "Wow" factor. Nice and clean, well-equipped. I let maintenance know about a couple of issues - like don't use both halves of the toaster simultaneously or the GFCI receptacle will blow, trip the circuit breaker and kill all the lights/receptacles downstream in the living room. Oof! Hot water didn't work in the kitchen (a weird faucet valve stem fluke) but these were minor - and totally normal. A very nice guy (maintenance?) came by and said he'd put a plumber on the hot water issue. I told him no hurry, so it wasn't fixed during our stay (probably because it was Memorial Day Weekend). I did notice just a couple of areas where cost-cutting was evident, like only one bar of soap in the bathroom (none for the shower), and no dishwashing liquid/sponges. Small details, but people appreciate that stuff when they pay top-dollar. But truly, I only mention these tiny details for the owners/managers' benefit - things I'd want to know if the place were mine. Bottom line: We were able to cook delicious meals, hang out, watch movies and and enjoy the gorgeous balcony view to our hearts' content. Strolling down to the beach together with easy beach access was the cherry on top. We would totally stay here again.

Shorewood 508 is a great condo. Great ocean view. The unit is well equipped and maintained. Shorewood is an excellent location for all Coligny activities. Seashore Vacations is without a doubt one of the best. Very well organized with constant communication. I would highly recommend this unit.

We would highly recommend unit 508 for a great stay. We were fortunate to have Sissy from Seashore Vacations help us find the unit. The first thing you see when you enter the unit is the amazing view with a great biking/walking beach. The unit itself has a great floorplan and was pleasantly decorated and comfortable. It was very clean and we had everything we needed. Really comfortable bed. The pool and grounds were very well maintained and everyone was very helpful. Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful beach home.

We had a great time at Shorewood. The condo was updated and had everything we needed in terms of kitchen items. The beds were comfy, extra blankets were a plus and the layout was nice. Loved the new foot wash stations between the beach and pool. Pool was clean and the overall location of the condo is very convenient for walking and biking to shops/restaurants. Would definitely recommend!

My family of four rented this beautiful condo. It was very clean, modern and the perfect location! We had a gorgeous ocean front view, steps away from the great pool area, and beach access. We could walk to restaurants or ride our rented bikes. We will definitely be back again!

We loved this unit and would definitely return again. The location is perfect for walking or biking to Coligny Plaza. We rented bikes for the week and took advantage of the numerous bike paths near this area. The unit was very clean and as advertised!

Excellent, well maintained Condo with a view second to none, that you can see when you walk into the door. Modern amenities, to include a quiet dishwasher, and washer and dryer. We could enjoy our view from anywhere in the Condo except the back bedroom, no big deal. The deck with table and chairs, with the sound of the ocean waves was incredible if you were eating or having a cocktail, or both, in the condo. Always a nice ocean breeze. The pool was excellent, and access to the beach from the facility was easy. Disposal of garbage was pretty cool with the garbage shoot on the 5th floor and I assume on the other floors. Description , location, and layout of the facility was as described in the advertisement. The property was clean and well maintained. Good customer service; all went as planned via text, and if I had a verbal question, I was able to contact someone. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives and have already. Those are the Pros and they outweigh the cons. Cons were minuscule. Sliding screen door off the Master was taped together with electrical tape at the handle. Easy fix for maintenance. A couple light bulbs/ sockets were not functioning, but there were an overwhelming number working to compensate. No big deal to me/us. I talked to a maintenance guy in the elevator, and he said he was there changing lightbulbs. I just laughed as if that was a big issue to someone. lol We had our options to go to the beach and chill and watch our son play, or walk to the Tiki Bar and enjoy the scenery. :-) We ate breakfast at the condo, and went out to dinner most of the time time. Our best dinner was at the Fish Camp - excellent crab cakes and oysters on the half-shell, and the entree was fabulous. Stopped at a roadside fish market and they had non-indigenous species that didn't go down to well. We actually brought some frozen oysters on the half shell home with us, had them last night for an appetizer and all is calm. 10 rating

This rental is super clean and in an excellent location with a beautiful view of the ocean. Also, there are some thoughtful additions such as an extra fan for warm evenings and USB plugs for charging devices. We would definitely stay again!

Very positive experience. Beautiful grounds, beautiful view. Beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept on! What brand of bed are they?
Could use a deep clean & outside windows washed but I know that’s cyclical. Would have liked to have a vacuum or broom in the property.
Overall gorgeous development & close to everything you would want. Can ride your bike anywhere!

Shorewood is a fantastic property. It is close to everything and right on the beach. 508 is a top floor unit with VIEWS! Exceptional cleaning was done. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need and more, except no pitcher for lemonade or iced tea. Ocean sunrise and sunsets were wonderful. Beds were very "sleep-easy". This place is where we will be coming back to next year, for sure.

Newly renovated, super clean and short walk to Coligny. The beds were comfortable and the views were beautiful. You can watch the sunrise right from the huge window in the living room or off the balcony, both overlooking the ocean. Can't wait to come back. Seashore management communicated with us promptly throughout the rental process. They answered all of our questions-highly recommend!!

Super easy, we were able to check in a little earlier than 4 and took advantage of the pool and beach! Everything was super clean, king bed was so comfortable and our friends had the twin beds and they were also comfortable. The decor was so pretty. We didn’t cook at all but the kitchen was supplied with everything if we were going to cook. The location was the best, shops you can walk to and awesome restaurants, we tried a lot of them and never was disappointed.Charlie’s, Skull Boathouse were our favorites. I would highly recommend unit 508.
