So you are thinking of going on vacation to Hilton Head Island with friends, family or both, and you’re not sure where to stay. If you are visiting for just a couple of nights and it is just the two of you then by all means a hotel might be the best choice. But when coming to the Island for a Saturday to Saturday stay and you want to really enjoy your vacation, there is no better choice than a vacation condo (or “villa” as we call them on Hilton Head).
Hilton Head Island actually has more villa rentals than hotel rooms. The Island is all about an excellent stress free stay. Most rental properties offer more than just a bedroom, as they have a kitchen, living areas, bedrooms, and most have a washer and dryer. They all come clean (with linens of course) and ready for your arrival. A departure cleaning is usually included in your rate so that you can just lock the door on your way home. The thing to remember is that this is someone’s home and it should be treated as if you are visiting a friend’s house. With at least 10 supermarkets on Hilton Head, a condo is an economical choice as well, since not every meal has to be out at a restaurant.
Options for villa or condo accommodations mean there is something for most every type of traveler. There are 1 - 4 bedroom villas that sleep from 2 to 10 comfortably. They range from oceanfront views to golf or wooded views. Whether you want an oceanfront penthouse with all the bells and whistles or just a bit more than an efficiency, there are options all over Hilton Head. There are villas from the north part of the island near Port Royal all the way to the tip at South Beach in Sea Pines.
Villa rental rates range in price in the summer time (the high season) from $800 to $5,500 a week, depending on location and size. But if you're a "snowbird" winter visitor, you can settle in for less than $500 per week.
Whether you're looking to golf or shop with your friends or relax by the beach with the extended family, Hilton Head has much to offer for people of all ages. Almost all of the properties have access to a pool and easy beach access and some units include an hour of free tennis a day.
Palmetto Dunes has the most villas that are oceanfront or ocean-oriented, but they have reasonable condos that are in lovely complexes, some with their own tennis courts or playgrounds for the kids. Shipyard and the Forest Beach are in the heart of Hilton Head and also very cost effective. Mid-Island (north of Palmetto Dunes) offers new developments to complexes that have been popular with Island visitors for a long time, where people keep coming back year after year because they are like their second homes. And then there is Sea Pines, with its bike trails that meander everywhere within the Resort and distinctive neighborhoods from Harbour Town to South Beach.
Whether you want to be in a mid-rise oceanfront building (the Island’s tallest are only 5 stories) or a villa where no one is above you or below you, Hilton Head Rentals will help you easily find the perfect vacation villa or condo!
