Located on the third floor of this oceanfront elevator building in the gated Palmetto Dunes Resort, this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa offers a spectacular vista of sand sea and sky from the balcony. The ocean view is also superb from the living room, which has a TV and DVD, sleeper sofa, and sliding glass doors to the balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped and open to the dining area, which seats 6.
The master bedroom also offers marvelous ocean views and has a king-sized bed, TV, and private bath with a tub/shower combination. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds and access to a hall bath with a tub/shower combination. Laundry facilities and free wireless internet access are also provided.
Paved walkways on the landscaped grounds lead to the oceanfront large pool, heated seasonally, surrounded by a deck with gazebo, charcoal grill, tables and chairs plus a children's pool. From there, a boardwalk with showers and bathrooms leads over the dunes to the miles of white sand beach and rolling waves. Bikes, easily rented, are a great way to get around the resort, whether riding down the beach or following the many designated paths. Also available for rent are kayaks and canoes, perfect for paddling along the more than 11 miles of connected lagoons and viewing the amazing wildlife that inhabits the Low Country. Golf and tennis enthusiasts can enjoy tee times reserved through the golf club on any of three designer courses winding through the resort, or reserve time on one of 17 tennis courts through the tennis center. Next door to Captains Walk is the Omni Oceanfront Resort with specialty shops and restaurants. There are over 60 miles of bike paths on the Island, so be sure to venture out of the resort to discover all that the Island has to offer. You can start across the highway at Shelter Cove Marina where a fishing boat can be chartered, or sunset cruise on Broad Creek arranged, or just visit the shops and restaurants along the marina's edge.
