The Sandcastle Plaza Villa Complex
Sandcastle Plaza began its inaugural season in 2009! This brand new "mini resort" is located at the mid-island intersection of William Hilton Parkway, Mathews Drive and Folly Field Road. The Plaza has three elegantly appointed two-bedroom, two-bath flats available for rental on the second and third residential floors. These European-style villas are in a beautifully innovative building designed to exceed international building codes for convenience and safety. The building's secure lobby has elevator service to each floor. Interior stairs lead out to the landscaped lagoon and a picnic area with a stainless steel charcoal grill. Parents will be happy that the lagoon area is safe - it is enclosed with sturdy bulkhead railing and steel cable fencing. Plaza guests also have access to a freeform pool with a broad sundeck and a stuccoed privacy wall.
Sandcastle Plaza is a short walk from the sandy waterside at Folly Field Beach, one of the original destination beaches on Hilton Head Island. Parking spaces are available near the beach for those who choose to drive, but because there are broad well-shaded paths set away from the road, most long-time Islanders would prefer the pleasant stroll back and forth. If you're sun-roasted from too many hours on the beach, cool fun awaits at Adventure Cove, with miniature golf under the spreading live oaks and an exciting indoor game arcade. The best part is, it's right next door to Sandcastle Plaza!
Dining is never a problem -Carrabba's Italian Grill is just steps across the beautifully landscaped parking lot. This well-known franchise has made itself quite welcome on Hilton Head, offering all the Old World favorites and a delicious sampling of local seafood too!
Sandcastles by the Sea is a recently-developed community of individual rental houses adjoining Sandcastle Plaza. Several homes are already completed, and the gated subdivision has a central lagoon that is frequented by graceful herons and egrets that pace its shallows, providing hours of quiet pleasure for bird watchers. Residences here are tall and slender, fashioned in the style of "Charleston single houses" with three stories over ground-level garages. Most include grotto pools and have personal elevators to upper floors. They are elegantly furnished and stocked with all the supplies guests would need to make themselves quite at home!
