Port Royal Plantation - A North End of the Island Jewel
This north end community is lovely and inside the residential gates there are many beautiful homes on the Atlantic Ocean and the Port Royal Sound. Outside the gates (and open to the public) is the Port Royal Golf and Racquet Club, which features 54 holes of golf managed by Heritage Golf Group. The Robbers Row course, in fact, sits atop former Civil War grounds and has historical markers to tell you all about it. Along with this course you can try the Barony and Planters Row courses. This area is also the location of The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa, so if you need a good meal or a day spa they're also close by.
