Located on the south end of Hilton Head Island, Forest Beach is separated by the Pope Avenue Circle. To the right of the circle is South Forest Beach and to the left of the circle is North Forest Beach. This area is unique as it is not located within in a Plantation, which most of the neighborhoods on Hilton Head Island are gated communities called Plantations. However this area is right in the heart of “downtown” or known as the “south-end” of Hilton Head, and both north and south Forest Beach are on the beach!

Day Trip From Hilton Head Island to Daufuskie

Day Trip From Hilton Head Island to Daufuskie

Hilton Head Island is full of activities for the vacationer but if you would like to experience something a little different, take a day trip to Daufuskie Island. Daufuskie is full of history and culture just waiting to be explored. Daufuskie was originally occupied by native Indians prior to the arrival of European explorers in the 16th century. Plantations covered the island prior to the Civil War when they were occupied by Union Soldiers. Freed slaves then occupied the island and grew cotton which has left a legacy of rich Gullah history. Remaining virtually untouched, Daufuskie Island offers a glimpse of what other sea islands were like before technology and urban growth.

It's Hurricane Season... But We Are Visiting Hilton Head Island

It's Hurricane Season... But We Are Visiting Hilton Head Island

What if a storm hits Hilton Head Island before I get ready to go on vacation? The answer is simple... stay home!

But before you unpack, just check to make sure whether the Island has been affected. We have had many tropical storm warnings over the years, but unlike Florida we've been extremely fortunate. In our opinion, the best offense is defense. We recommend purchasing travel insurance. Even the most basic travel insurance will provide some compensation if flights are canceled or the island is closed down due to a hurricane.
